Director of Sales, Europe (m/f/d)

Kreg Europe GmbH, based in the beautiful Five-Lake-District, just outside Munich, is responsible for the European-wide distribution of innovative Kreg Tool products. 

Kreg Tool is a growing tool-manufacturing company with our global headquarters located in Ankeny, Iowa, USA. We manufacture a wide variety of tools, accessories, and equipment for woodworkers and do-it-yourselfers. Most well-known for the Kreg Jig® pocket-hole jig, the company also offers cutting and measuring solutions, clamping tools, screws, and much more. These solutions give woodworkers and do-it-yourselfers the confidence to create their own projects, while helping to provide a sense of accomplishment upon completion.

The Director of Sales, located in Germany,  and will be responsible for Kreg’s European growth, ensuring that it aligns with our values and organizational objectives. This individual will  take a hands-on approach, leading a small team and all aspects of local operations. This position will report to Kreg Enterprise’s Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

Responsibilities: 

  • In collaboration with the CRO, develop and oversee the long-term strategic goals for Kreg Europe, aligning them with the overall business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with buyers and channel partners ensuring customer connectedness and sustained loyalty.
  • Engage actively in the market to ensure brand visibility and relevance, capitalizing on opportunities.
  • Identify European  sales opportunities and allocate resources effectively to capitalize on these opportunities, ensuring the growth of the business.
  • Establish, nurture and grow the company’s presence in Europe’s big box retail stores, like Hagebau, Hornbach, Bauhaus and Toom.
  • Manage the Germany office by recruiting, leading, and developing a high-performance team, promoting a collaborative work environment focused on achieving company objectives.
  • Oversee marketing strategies to promote and enhance brand visibility across European markets. This includes both traditional and digital marketing channels.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international obligations, including employment contracts and warehouse agreements.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, financial plans, and conduct profitability analyses.
  • Must be fluent in both German and English. Additional languages are a bonus.

 

Qualifications:

  • Advanced education in sales, marketing, or a business-related field.
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within the tool industry with an international focus and a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and growing a business.
  • Industry business network consisting of buying groups across multiple retail outlets.
  • Proficiency in developing and executing effective sales strategies to foster growth and meet business objectives.
  • A deep understanding of the industry and market trends to identify and develop customer and market opportunities.
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to inspire team members to drive results.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with entrepreneurial thinking and acting.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically and critically.
